Affiliate disclosure
This site is free to read and makes money through affiliate links. If you click through and end up paying a vendor, they pay us a share. It costs you nothing extra.
Those links carry rel="sponsored" and are flagged on the tool's page. Plenty of tools here have no programme at all, including some of our picks.
What money can't buy
- A pick, a place in the Essentials, or a row in a table.
- A preview before publication, or a con removed.
- A price we couldn't verify. If we can't confirm it, we say so.

Ratings from other sites
Some tool pages show a score from Product Hunt, Trustpilot or the Chrome Web Store, and a star count from GitHub. Those are other people's numbers and we say so on every line: the publisher, the figure, how many people are behind it, the day we read it, and a link so you can check whether it still says that.
They are never mixed into our own rating, and they are never sent to search engines as ours. Our rating comes from founders who signed in here and wrote a review, and it stays empty until 3 of them have. 17 of 128 tools currently carry a figure from somewhere else.
We do not copy anybody's reviews. No review text, no reviewer names, no invented dates. Product Hunt, Trustpilot and GitHub figures come from those publishers' own public APIs. Chrome Web Store ratings have no API, so a person reads the listing and their name goes on the entry beside the date.
You will not find a G2, Capterra or Software Advice score here. Those are the sites this one competes with for the same searches, and quoting a rival on the page where you are deciding makes them the source and us the summary. The code keeps a list of them and the build fails if one is added back.
