The short version
Thirteen tools for a job most founders should not be paying for yet. App Store Optimisation starts mattering once you have an app with downloads to lose. Before that, keyword research is guesswork about an audience you do not have. No editorial pick, partly for that reason and partly because the serious tools here are priced for companies rather than for one person. AppFollow at $142 a month, AppTweak at $79 and App Radar at $58 are the professional end and are not aimed at you. Appfigures at $7.99 and Astro at $9 are the founder answers and cover keyword tracking and rankings well enough to be worth it. Six of the thirteen have a free tier and most of those are genuinely limited plans rather than trials that expire. If you do one thing in this category, track your own keywords and your competitors' rankings, which the cheap tools handle. Screenshot generators like Screenshots Pro solve a real problem, but it is a design problem rather than an ASO one.
